In the past five years, Hou Wen has been forging a dream in the form of her sculptures. She tries to have a conversation with herself in this daydream, and circuitously convey her reticent inner voice to another individual who can resonate with it; by the bufferingof this dream, the coarse and savage reality is overspread by a layer of pliable membrane. In her latest works, this symbolic world is bulked up by the power of growth, brightening up, as if a ray of lightcome through inside-out.
